Q. Is my original picture safe?
A.
Your original photo is not harmed or changed in any way.
A digital copy of it is made using an electronic scanner and all repair
work is done on the copy. Your original is returned to you with
the finished work.

Q. How big can I blow up a picture?
A.
Theoretically, you can enlarge a picture as much as you want.
However, the more you blow it up the fuzzier it gets. We recommend
limiting blowups to about twice original size to maintain good
sharpness. eg: 5x7 or 8x10 from 3x5.

Q. Can I send you a digital file instead of a print?
A.
Yes you can. TIFF format is best, but JPEG is OK too. For best
results, the resolution should be at least 300 dpi but we may be able
to compensate if your original has lower resolution.

Q. How large a print can I get?
A.
We usually provide 8in x 10in prints. We will make larger ones
if you request them.

Q. Can I send you a negative or slide instead of a print?
A.
Yes you can. We can work with negatives, slides, and prints.

Q. Can you restore Tintypes?
A.
Yes, we can work with Tintypes as well as other old technologies.
The Civil War soldier shown on this site was an Ambrotype, which is
similar.

Q. Can I get a digital copy of my restoration?

Ask when you order and we will include a CD with digital files of
your finished restoration and your original photo along with your
completed order.
